Ro'ya Program

Ro’Ya Program applications are now open

ADNOC is committed to developing the future stars of the UAE. We are currently looking for young and talented Emirati high school students to join the ADNOC and Khalifa University's Ro'Ya Program. Following the completion of Grade 10, successful students will start the two-year program during the summer break. The program involves two intensive summer workshops in Abu Dhabi (Summer 1, 2022 and Summer 2, 2023), followed by a brief refresher program during the winter break. Along with yearly projects and online learning assignments, students will participate in monthly mentorship sessions with Khalifa University experts who will assist them in working on their projects and learning assignments throughout the duration of the program.

The first summer workshop will run for 3 weeks from 12 July– 29 July 2022.

Program Objectives:

  • Introduce students to the Energy sector.
  • Help students build their Leadership and Business skills.
  • Enhance team building and communication skills through group projects.
  • Create experiential learning opportunities through exposure to lab work and a glance at artificial intelligence in the industry.


The Eligibility Criteria:

  • UAE National Student.
  • Currently enrolled in Grade 10 (or equivalent) within the UAE at the time of nomination.
  • Possess a record of academic achievement and supporting school transcript.
  • Good ability in English: reading, comprehension, and writing.
  • Must be available to participate in the selection days and entry exam in person.


Selection Requirements:

  • Pass English and Math Entry Exam.
  • Pass the panel interview.
  • Ability Assessment.

What is the Ro’Ya program?

Ro’Ya, in partnership with Khalifa University, is a personal development program, which aims to enhance the academic profiles of highly talented Emirati high school students, exposing them to the energy sector, character building experiences, strengthening their soft skills, and equipping them with the right tools to excel in their higher education journey.

 

How can I apply for the program?

Who is eligible to apply?

What are the chances of being selected into the Ro’Ya program?

Applicants are selected based on their academic performance and how well they will do in the selection processes (tests, assessments, and interviews).

  • Pass English and Math Entry Exam.
  • Pass the panel interview.
  • Ability Assessment.

 

How long is the program?

It is a 2-year program that includes 2 intensive summer workshops (3 weeks), in addition to a refresher program during the winter break.

 

What if I am unable to attend all the Ro’Ya sessions?

It is necessary to attend mandatory sessions; however, you are not required to attend the optional ones. A continuous absence of 3 days, or above will impact your successful completion of the program. Only emergency cases will be considered.

 

What are the documents required to apply for the Ro’Ya program?

  • Latest 10th grade transcript (PDF format).

 

Once your application has been selected, further documents will be requested.    

 

Once I have submitted my application, can I edit my application?

No, unfortunately not.  Application submitted are final. Upon your submission, you will receive a confirmation message.

 

How will I find out if I am successfully selected or not?

All applicants who apply will receive their outcome via email.

 

Where will the program be held?

The program itself will be conducted at Khalifa University campus, however there will be some visits to ADNOC, Borouge and Schlumberger.

 

Will we be provided with accommodation?

No, accommodation will not be available during the program sessions.
