Scholarship Program

The ADNOC Scholarship Program is a prestigious accolade granted to a select number of talented individuals, following a competitive application process.

Established in 1974, ADNOC continues to nurture the next generation of UAE nationals by investing in their higher education.

This fund was developed to empower high potential UAE nationals with training across various technical disciplines. These subjects are chosen in line with the vision for advancement of the industrial and economic objectives of ADNOC and the UAE.

What We Look For

The application and interview process are designed to identify the most brilliant UAE National talent, whose work ethic and core values are in line with those of ADNOC. 

Prospective scholars should have already received a conditional letter of acceptance from our list of approved universities, for one of the following majors:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Petroleum Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Geoscience
  • Polymer Science
  • Material Science
  • Engineering Project Management
  • Automation in Data Science
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine Learning
  • Financial Engineering for Engineers
  • Law

Candidates will also be requested to undertake a medical assessment to assess suitability for their chosen discipline.

You will also need to confirm that you have no obligations which may conflict with your studies. For those who are eligible for national service, this should include the ability to provide a military service release letter.

• Has attended a school recognized in terms of academic excellence by the Ministry of Education (MoE); Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) or Knowledge & Human Development Authority (KHDA) High school certificate, or equivalent

• Minimum achievement of 85% in each science and math subject

• Average final high school examinations results of 85% or above to pursue scholarship for domestic studies (within the UAE)

• Average final examinations results of 90% or above if you intend to study overseas

• For British school system, completion of GCE A-Level with a minimum of 3 A-Level subjects with score of A/A/B or 136 UCAS Tariff Points and 5 GCSE/IGCSE subjects with Grade 7 or higher (previously A grade)

• For International Baccalaureate (IB) system, must have a minimum of 36 points overall including 6/6/6 at higher level

• TOEFL (or equivalent) score of 80 and above / IELTS 6.0 and above / EMSAT - English 1400 and above, Math 1250 and above and Physics 800 and above (for Domestic study only)

• Minimum cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.5 (or equivalent) in an undergraduate or master’s program from an approved academic institution

• TOEFL score of 100 and above / IELTS 7.0 and above

• Must have a minimum of 4 years of work experience if applying for master’s program or minimum 6 years of work experience if applying for doctorate program

• Color copy of Passport (Front page and unified number page)

• Color copy of Family Book (All pages with writing)

• Color copy of Emirates ID (Front and Back)

• Valid IELTS / TOEFL / EmSAT Certificate

• University Acceptance Letter(s)

• Copy of Curriculum Vitae (CV)

• Reference Letter from Math Instructor

• Reference Letter from Science Instructor

• Passport photo with white background

• Transcripts for years 9, 10, 11 and 12 (mid-term)

• Personal statement / Essay (300 words) - What motivated you to apply for the ADNOC Scholarship and why did you choose this particular field of study?

• Latest university transcript (if applicable)

• National service letter (if applicable)

• Employment or service certificate (if applicable)
