Diversity & Inclusion

At ADNOC, people are our most important asset. Our family of over 50,000 employees share a collective responsibility to enable progress and prosperity, both in the UAE and across the world.

Today, we are proud of our diverse and exceptional talent pool at ADNOC, a reflection of the strength and growth of our business over the past 50 years and a testament to ADNOC as a workplace of choice.

H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, reaffirmed ADNOC's commitment to empowering women, driving gender diversity, and promoting inclusivity in the oil and gas sector, as part of ADNOC's 2030 growth strategy focusing on People, Profitability and Sustainability.

As one of the UAE's largest employers, we are proud to promote a diverse and inclusive working environment in which talented individuals can thrive.

Together, we are fueled by diversity, commitment, and creativity.

ADNOC Group Equal Opportunity Statement

Strength relies on our diversity, which is why it's considered a key pillar to achieve our 2030 strategy and create an excellent workforce built on the foundations of collaboration and respect.

As we harness energy in our nation's service and as we continue to build the future, we are implementing progressive policies to create new and equal career opportunities for our community.

We encourage people from all backgrounds with a passion for creating energy for life to apply today.

Gender Balance

With the guidance and support of its wise leadership, the UAE is listed as one of the 20-best performing nations in the United Nations Gender Inequality Index.

In line with the ADNOC 2030 strategy focusing on people, our organization aims to develop gender balance across the group. Women have been playing an essential role in the growth of ADNOC and the UAE and will continue to build the future. Today, we have female leaders in 15% of our leadership positions, and we are proud of their achievements.

ADNOC is a major contributor to driving growth and development in the UAE will continue to increase efforts to empower and develop female leaders who contribute not only to the growth of the organization but also to the nation's development.

Women at ADNOC

While women currently represent 5% of the total workforce in the oil and gas sector in the Middle East, they represent 12% of ADNOC's employees. Emirati women represent 71% of ADNOC's female UAE National employee population. Today, the ADNOC Group is proud to have three female CEO's, more than 17 board positions, and a growing number of women in critical technical positions on our operational sites.

In total, around 600 women work at ADNOC operations sites, including 130+ working in technical positions in several locations, including Zirku and Das islands and the Rumaitha field, which was the first ADNOC facility to be managed by female workers.

In 2017, ADNOC set a target of increasing the percentage of women in leadership roles to 15% by 2020. We are proud to highlight that we exceeded our target as we currently have 16% of women in leadership positions.  During the same period, the number of female engineers at ADNOC increased by almost 90%, summing up to 1,062 new female engineers.

With this achievement, ADNOC was awarded the 'Oil and Gas Inclusion and Diversity Company of the Year' during ADIPEC 2019.

The road ahead

H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber reaffirmed our commitment to empowering women by pledging to double the number of female representation in technical roles by 2030. This latest goal further demonstrates the great emphasis we place on ensuring that we provide equal opportunities for females and males in their career direction across all levels in ADNOC Group.
